How do you get all of those comments? A cry for help.

Your observations are correct. Basically you have to have a following here and state something and have all these minions come and comment. I see one popular blogger bring up the dumbest situations or blogs and get over 200 comments. I see other bloggers bring up very important information or thought provoking situations and get only 5 comments.

Sometimes, like me, you get lucky and start a blog which starts a discussion and gets featured. But even then, the comments are under 100.

That's today's society.

You never know what subjects will "spark" an interest in the AR community.  Just keep plugging away, and who knows, maybe the next hot topic will be launched from one of your posts.  Good luck.

Howdy there Joe

I sure can understand how you feel. All though most of the 552 posts that I've written have over 1000 visitor's. You would not think so by just looking at the amount of comments, that have been left on them. The post that has the most comments on it, has 55 comments. And 1112 folks visited it. That was the post that I wrote, when I made it to the 200,000 points milestone. I can tell ya I have let that get to me in the pass. Then I got to checking to it, and what I found was I actual get more visits from the public than I do from the members here at AR. And not just from my local area, but from all over the Country, and the World. You know something, that actual means more than getting a whole lot of comments. It show-es  what I'm writing is what Home Buyers and Home Owners, are needing and wanting to know about.

Joe don't let, not getting very many comments get you down. Just keep writing to the folks who really count, and thats the public them selves. And also if you notice, out of them 552 blog posts, not one of them has not even been featured by AR.

I was checking in to see if you had any good answers to your question.  I have yet to get over 18 comments and it does get discouraging and make you second guess your writing skills.  However, keep it I have had people off the streets tell me that they saw my blogs and that is what really matters.

Although I would LOVE to get lots of comments- I had 1 featured listings and I was on cloud 9 for about a week.

Joe, this is always a relevant question.

My blogs that seem to get the most viewings are Market Conditions and local events (festivals, concerts, farmers markets). The ones that get the most comments usually are what I call 'position paper' blogs (my thoughts on an issue or situation).  As time goes on, you will find your voice, but I recommend a combination of all types. The idea is for potential clients to see you as both a professional and a person.

Holly up above there, sure is right we always need to remember folks do like to get to know bouth sides of us. The professional and our personal side. One of the other posts that I wrote that got 33 comments on it. Was a post about my passion of Cowboy Action Shooting. Here again it got over 1000 views.

Heres an idea for ya, Bob S. one of the main AR folks. Has put out a challenge to us. Its the Local Business Challenge. I would leave ya a link, but seen that we just meet. It might be better to just let ya do a search for his post. You may even be able to come along it, when ya firat come in to the community. Where the featured posts are listed. Hope to see ya be a part of this challenge.

Also remember to just be your self, and have losts of fun with your blogging for folks!

There are also a lot of us other members here, that are always willing to give a helpping hand to anyone that would like one.

Hi Joe ~ Posts about your local market or community will almost never get many comments.  Other AR members usually won't comment on the sorts of posts that are about your specific area.  Not to say those posts won't get read - they will get read by people interested in your area.  But those readers don't comment.

If you write about things of interest to agents those posts are more likely to get comments.  And it definitely doesn't have to be meaty, serious stuff. Pictures of your pet for example can be very popular.

I think the best thing to do is to read, read and read some more - just keep reading as many of the posts as you can every day and you'll get a feel for what blogs tend to get commented on.  It's also very important that you leave comments on other members' posts.  Typically those members will turn around and comment on yours - right away or eventually.  If you regularly comment on somebody's blog posts chances are they'll start commenting on yours.

As you've mentioned above you do need to figure out your purpose[s] here.  No doubt about it - the interactivity of comments is a big part of the fun here.  But if you're really mostly looking to increase your business via your blog then comments aren't all that important.
