Chuck's blog...Continued...
CL1 played some defense of their own tonight. Not only has Aaron proved that he's "Mr. Automatic" when it comes to getting on base, he's starting to flash the leather as well. He made some "Web Jems", and that type of play rubbed off on the likes of Doom and Mr. Willits, as they also joined in the defensive fun.
Chris Goebel is making a late-season run at the batting title going 9 for 9 the past two weeks, and stands only 5 percentage points from knocking Chuck down yet another spot to third place for the team average (Chuck is currently in 2nd place behind Yours Truly). That being said, Chris continues to be a defensive liability and has been rumored to be a candidate for the EH spot tomorrow night in Ogilvie. Nate will likely be a suitable replacement at SS.
Other notable performances: Melissa added another walk to her line, and is just one free base from tying Jeff "that hit the plate" Schomel for the team lead in walks with 12. Rachel continues to steadily raise her average with another solid offensive performance that included a hit, walk, and an RBI. Nate Smith...Nate...Ahhh...Umm...Nate...Ahhh...Did I mention that Doom made a sweet sliding catch? Whitey limped his way through another sub-par pitching performance and got the win thanks to collecting 2 K's from one of their girls (I think she may have been blind.).
We're all looking forward to Wed. game vs. Lewis Lake #1. They'll surely show up ready to play. I know one thing, I'll show up ready to go to the DQ in Mora after the game.
