I have a sale that was supposed to transfer yesterday. It didn't.
The details are ugly and unimportant. Things started looking bad last Friday, so I was upset about it all weekend...waking up in the middle of the night, worrying...you all probably know the feeling.
On Monday morning I had to call the other agent. To say I was dreading it is an understatement. I called him, explained what happened and then I waited for the screaming and yelling to begin, only it didn't. He said, and I quote, "sh__ happens"! This should not be construed as him not caring. He definitely cares about this transaction and his sellers.
And then he proceeded to discuss with me the situation and what could be done about it. He told me he had been down this road before and he would try to help me work it out.
He was not looking forward to making the call to the sellers, understandably, but he did.
It is still not resolved and it may not resolve, but I will always remember the way this agent handled this for the time when I am on the receiving end of such a phone call.
Screaming and yelling doesn't solve a thing.
Barb, sounds like you have a great listing agent here. Like you, I so prefer his type to the ones who jump up and down and holler at me!
