This 12 pound zucchini monster is shown next to my blackberry for a size comparison.

  Garden trophy?

For some reason, my friends find the shape of this zucchini to be extremely funny.

Janet, that's one heck of a zucchini.  I remember zucchinis in my Mom's garden growing to the size of baseball bats when I was a kid!  Amazing!

OMG!!!  WHAT A WHOPPER!!!  Please tell me that you like zucchini and that you actually eat the ones growing from your garden?  BTW:  if you're looking to give away any of the squash you don't eat - let me know.  I'd be happy to give you my address.

On another note: is that your son in the second pix?  I see a resemblance.

Amazing!  I don't plant zucchini, just cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, and peppers. Does your family eat it?

Judi: No we just laugh at it. Every year we swear we will eat it, then we eat the first few and let the rest of them grow to a gigantic size.

We eat the rest of the stuff, but the cucumbers also have a habit of getting too big and out of control.

That is a most wonderful Zucchini.  We have a garden as well.  For our own enjoyment and the joy of watching our 3 & 5 year old granddaughters pick "only the red tomatoes" (not the yellow or the orange ones - just the red ones) and the "Zakinis".   They love to pick them.  Thank you for sharing something that definitely brings a smile.  Happy Sunday.
