8 Comments on Figs are in the Jars! and ready to eat!
Yum. My mother in law does some every year and Im the first to get them. I love them on fresh biscuits in the morning. They are a treasure to receive.
Ginger, that's a great idea for Christmas gifts - something personal from you.
Oh my....my little local Middle Eastern Market has fresh figs right now..I eat them like candy
Laura, If you were closer... I would share them
Brian, These fig preserves will make good Christmas gifts.. Thanks for the hint..
Karen, They are very good for you and it is better to eat them rather than Candy..
Take care,
Ginger
Hi Ginger-
We gladly pay $12+ a quart for those babies in my neck of the woods.
I like to chop them up and put them in cornbread, or toss them in pancake batter. So good, putting syrup or jelly on them would be a crime.

WE are still getting the figs to can. Wish that you were closer..
They are so good...
Great year for them this yesr in NC
Most people talk about their "grandmothers" fill in the blank, for me, it was my grandpas fig preserves. Oh my...the BEST I have ever eaten, and let me just say, I have tried a few figs in my day! Everywhere I go, I look for someone who can produce a fig preserve like grandpa's, and I haven't found one yet. He passed in 1985, so I have been looking for a while...My mother-in-law is on a quest to find them like her mother made. My m-i-l is 81, her mother long gone...Thanks for making my mouth water! LOL
Wish that you were closer..I would certainly share a pint with you.
