Many times a home's best features are those that need no Staging at all.  It's under our very noses but is so heavily clothed, it escapes us.  So which would you rather see?

This formal living room was the first thing you saw upon entry to this home.  It is directly in front of the foyer.  Nice you say...

And this was what you saw directly outside the formal living room French doors once you got past drapes, blinds and patio umbrella.

Sometimes it's best to go naked.  Heavy drapery, blinds and obstructions can bring a property down.  When showing and Staging, these are things that are best gotten rid of immediately.  Pull them up or pull them down.

All you need after that are REALLY clean windows!

Often when I see cheap metal mini-blinds in a home, I tell people that it is free to just simply take them down, if they don't need them for privacy.

It looks cleaner, lighter, and makes the room appear even larger.  Having the view is an extra bonus.  Best part to homeowners is it is free!  Some may be hard to convince though, they are so used to seeing it covered up that it looks too bare to them.

That and rugs!  I find so many unnecessary rugs and window treatments.  I had a client tell me I was an "undecorator"  -- but, he did every thing I suggested and sold in a couple weeks!  He then called and told me he recentently referred me, his "undecorator" to a friend and to be expecting a call!

Hi Tara, free IS always good!

Karen, I like that name "undecorator". This house I think I irritated 1/2 of the couple because I kept making little piles of stuff to get rid off outside each room.  The other half of the couple liked it!  Thanks for the feature.

Good point. Naked is also better than fussy, formal, dated window treatments, no matter what the view out the window!

Sometimes less is better .  Also a trained eye can see better than your own.

Hi Carol,

You are so right, I think less is better almost always.  Thanks for commenting :)
