Any Ideas?
Well for one thing, blogs with only two words don't get any points. I haven't checked your other blogs but I will. If you are writing and not getting any points, send an email to the AR people. They're great to work with!
BLogs must have a certain length to them...is it 50 or 250 words...something like that.
Also, anything you use that was originally written by someone else does not get points.
Hi Gabriel,
Sure do! Blogs have to be at least fifty words to count! You can have up to ten blogs a week! And like bob said anything that you re-post, you don't get points for. Actually the first person that posted it gets points! Hope this helps!
:)
Matt
Ah! I checked out your blog and the reason you are not getting points is
- Must have at least 50 words to earn points
- Must not have 'borrowed' content -- even with permission you won't get points
And now you will get points because of our comments.
But write your own words and make it at least a paragraph or two long . . .
Tell us what kind of services you provide - or what's going on in the industry - or about problems you have had with a client - or how pissed off you are about politics. (wink)
Gabriel: Being wordy on Active Rain is obviously encouraged. People will be more likely to refer business to you if they feel they are getting to know you. It is also beneficial for potential clients to read about you and your business in your own words.
I think the points thing has been explained pretty well. Here is another comment to add to your point total I hope.
Hi Gabriel, well at least this time your are receiving Comment Points. I guess by this comment you know about the at least 50 word thing but don't miss, Localizing your blog and focusing it using AR Channels and My Groups. There extra points there.
Matt, most of the other comments cover it pretty well but the bottom line is----write something----you will get points.
The AR point system is a lot like basketball. Dribble (write) dribble (write) and then shoot! Expecting to score without putting in any effort or providing value is not what AR is all about. Give us what you've got - no holding back - OK?
Thank you to all for responding to my question. I am new to this whole blogging thing and I truly want to embrace it and follow blogging etiquete. I will try to put my heart and soul out there and try to provide value to the AR community.
Thank you all!
