I'm currently using an independently hosted WordPress installation for my "other" blog (wickedblog.com). Before migrating to WordPress, I used GeekLog (which I still use for my main business site wickedwordcraft.com).

Geeklog showed a views statistic that helped me to decide which types of entries were most popular. WordPress doesn't have that same type of reporting feature built in.

Does anyone (who is using, or has used WordPress) have a plug-in recommendation to capture this information? I would prefer one that you currently use or have fully tested.

I found it extremely helpful to know which posts were most popular so I could "give the people what they wanted" on my blog. I noticed that there were "trends" in topic or specific detail interests when I was using GeekLog that I can no longer capture on WP and I miss that functionality.

I love WP -- but I still need a few things to feel completely at home with the new platform. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

You are right.. Wordpress itself doens't provide that kind of statistics capability.. But wordpress normally sits on a host account so you can get very detailed traffic stats via your host... I used iPower and it showed me down to the second when people visited my blog and how many times a post has been clicked on... it was much better than just a page long stats... So I never bothered with any plug-ins

I haven't used any of the "platforms" that you mentioned.  I am still young in that aspect of using technology for real estate as I am somewhat new at real estate and still have a lot to learn.  I'm getting there.  I am going to check them out.

I can't help answer your question, but I will take your advice and try the other blog sites out.

I really, really like looking at Google Analytics for my first born blog which is on RealTownBlogs.com but I don't see the same thing on my WordPress.org blog when I look at Google Analytics.  I very much have used the Google Analytics stats to feed my blog.  So much so that I had to put that blog on a strict diet recently (way too many food searches.)

Based on Christine Zheng's comment here I went to my host site this AM and tried to find my stats there.  I know they are there somewhere but I could not find them this morning.  I was thinking about all of this yesterday.  I am so bad on that blog about knowing my way around my host, knowing how to do anything, add anything, measure anything.

I use Google Analytics (love it!) and I also have a useful statistics program on my hosting account -- both are good, but neither offer the information about individual posts that I need. Both offer more general information about visitors and how they find me (great for knowing what search terms got them to my site). But, I want to know that "this" approach to a topic is more effective for gaining readership than "this other" approach.

I want more information on readership for individual blog entries.

To do this, I'd like to have something inside WP that I can view and tweak from my dashboard. Since I host my blog on my own, I'm not restrained to the way WP handles their hosted sites. I'm hoping that someone else has found the "perfect" statistics tool and knows (from personal experience) that it works well.

Thanks for the feedback so far!
