No, my picture here is ineligible for the ActiveRain Nature & Marketing contest, but I just had to figure out something to do with the awesome picture of an Indian Gharial (Gavialis gangeticus) that resides in a forlorn corner of the San Diego Zoo.
I had been back to that forlorn corner a couple of times, but Mr. Gharial had always been under the water and fairly invisible. When I took some Clients to the Zoo earlier this month, I guess Mr. Gharial knew that I would have some lovely women with me so he decided to show off his big, tight, muscular body on the beach.
Does Mr. Gharial have a partner? I hate to think of him showing off that body without other gharials (ghariali?) to enjoy it! And thanks for th photo -- I have never seen anyone like him!
(Still trying to come up with something clever enough for the contest...)
I have all these pictures but I'm having problems coming up with the tag line. Then I also had to figure out how to use snag it again. Long story short I've been trying but nothing so far.
Hey, Shoshana - I always hate to see just one of anything, but the Zoo is also an international rescue facility, so sometimes the animals are rescued from poachers and smugglers, or are found abandoned somewhere and brought to the Zoo to live out their lives.
Hey, Jen - He becomes even scarier if you read about him and his eating habits.
Hey, Marchel - That's why I made it a longer contest so that you could get your creative juices flowing.
Hey, Sally - He does have an interesting nose, doesn't he? I bet his mommy thought he was a cute youngster, though. Wonder what she would think of him now if she saw a picture - LOL.
Russel, I am trying SO hard to get to this contest....it's right up my alley so to speak :) I will work on an entry and get it in, thanks for the kick!
