One of Pleasanton's oldest and most established neighborhoods, Pleasanton Heights is a highly sought-after area of Pleasanton. Its close proximity to Downtown Pleasanton and Main Street makes it  desirable to homeowners who want to actively participate in all that Pleasanton's quaint and charming downtown area has to offer.

Pleasanton Heights is bordered by First Street on the west, Bernal Avenue to the south and east, and Del Sol Avenue on the north. Residents of these neighborhoods can easily walk to Main Street for shopping and dining, the weekly Farmer's Market as well as the plethora of special events hosted by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, including Friday Night Concerts in the Park, 1st Wednesday Street Parties and a variety of seasonal street fairs. This location will only become more desirable when the city's much-anticipated Firehouse Arts Center opens downtown in early 2010.

While most of the 350 homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1950s and ‘60s, there are some homes, particularly on Second Street, that date back 100 years or more. Particularly noteworthy are a couple of homes on Second Street that were built in the 1890s. A stroll down this charming, tree-lined street is a wonderful study in how a multitude of architectural styles - old and new -- can beautifully co-exist.

Pleasanton Heights is well situated between the three levels of schools - elementary, middle and high school. The floor plans in these neighborhoods range from 1,200-square-foot cottages to 2,000-square-foot homes. Many of the homes have been remodeled and updated, and the pride of ownership in this neighborhood is strongly evident. Homes in Pleasanton Heights do not come on the market often, and when they do, the average list price in today's economy is well over $700,000.
