The Occoquan Coffee House is exactly where you would expect it to be, in the historic Town of Occoquan in Prince William County VA. Conveniently located at the corner of Commerce Street and Washington Street anyone looking for a cup of coffee to go with their morning commute will find it easy to get in and out.
When you come inside the Occoquan Coffee House you will quickly figure out that this is not your usual chain coffee shop where you will see the same décor in every one. Instead you would have to describe the décor as eclectic. There is no doubt that Linda the owner has a thing for salt and pepper shakers. Most of the shelves in the seating area are covered with them. As you would expect coffee is the main item on the menu. You can get it plain, flavored, cappuccino or latte, the usual spectrum of coffee. You won't get any "half café decaf hold the whip double espresso" or some mumbo jumbo that you hear at one of the large chains but you will get a strong cup of coffee and of course you can get a sweet treat with it as well.

If you head to the Occoquan Coffee House on Saturday night you will find something that you might not expect, musical entertainment. Local artists que up for open mike night. There isn't a program so you don't know who might be on hand or even the musical genre. You may hear blue grass, contemporary rock or country all sung by local entertainers. This isn't a rock concert just musicians who enjoy their craft and play for you while you have your last cup of coffee of the day or dessert. You almost expect the beatnik poetry reader to appear, opps did I just flashback to the 60's?
If you live in the Woodbridge area make a detour from your usual coffee shop and pull into the Occoquan Coffee House. Whether it is for a morning cup or for Saturday evening entertainment the Occoquan Coffee House isn't your usual place to go.
Hi Cindy
It sounds like a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee.
Good luck and success.
