Fashion Hills is a large condominium complex in the western section of Mission Valley in San Diego, California.Fashion Hills is up on the northern bluffs overlooking Mission Valley, so many of its units have amazing views of Mission Valley -- Qualcomm Stadium (home of the San Diego Chargers) to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and everything in between.
Within minutes of Fashion Hills is downtown San Diego, including Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres; historic Old Town San Diego; world-class beaches, shopping, and food; the University of San Diego, and everything else that the Mission Valley lifestyle has to offer.
Fashion Hills is a few blocks away from Hazard Center and Fashion Valley Mall, as well as the San Diego Trolley stations at those two malls. You can easily get to Sea World, Fiesta Island, and much of Mission Bay by car or bike, or a long walk, and it's also easy to go biking, skateboarding, or walking on the many paths along the San Diego River. If you're a golfer, you'll enjoy its close proximity to both the Riverwalk Golf Course and the Tecolote Canyon Golf Course.
Fashion Hills is #16 on the Mission Valley map below. For information on the other complexes in Mission Valley, click on the map to go to my web site and then click on the same map there.
Fashion Hills was built from 1976 to 1986 and has 226 units ranging in size from 1,100 to 2,341 square feet, some of the largest units in Mission Valley. Floor plans range from one bedroom and one bathroom to four bedrooms and three bathrooms. To the best of my knowledge, all of the units have in-unit laundry hookups.
HOA fees are $180-$275 per month and include common area maintenance and landscaping, exterior building maintenance, and trash pickup. These are some of the lowest HOA fees in Mission Valley for the size of the condominiums.
Along with its great location in central San Diego, amenities at Fashion Hills include swimming pool, spa, and tennis courts.
As of August 1, 2009, in Fashion Hills, there was one unit for sale, a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom unit of 1,837 square feet listed at $650,000, and one unit in pending status, a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom unit of 1,501 feet listed at $350,000.
Fashion Hills is one of the most desirable condominium complexes in Mission Valley because of the views. Not very many units come on the market each year, and those that do don't last very long.
Sales for prior years:
2009 (as of August 1, 2009, and not including the two units noted above) - 5 units, $270,000 - $445,000
2008 - 5 units, $305,000 - $630,000
2007 - 5 units, $360,000 - $487,000

Jim, you are the expert on Mission Valley Condos. Great job in showcasing them. I "borrowed" your idea of the slide.com presentation and have been using it too. I love that we can use multiple photos easily in our blogs. It really helps to tell the story of an area.
Hey, Andrea - The name goes nicely with their location right above Fashion Valley Mall. World-class living overlooking world-class shopping.
Hey, Jen - I'm really liking slide.com. The only thing that seems to be a problem is that if you use the large size slide show, like I do, it doesn't work on some people's computes. I suspect it has something to do with the available memory on those computers, but I don't understand why it works at slide.com. Perhaps ActiveRain itself is a memory hog. I'll be over soon to visit you, but if I miss your blog entries with the slide shows, let me know.
Hey, Pam - Fortunately, all of these condominium complexes are in a fairly small area. It like someone said, "Hey, there's a river. Let's put lots of shopping and condo living along the river." Much different than San Antonio's River Walk.
Hey, Russel - I just got back from Mission Valley taking more pictures. I like this wide-angle lens.

Jim, I love the name of the complex! Great job, and I can see why they don't come on very often. Nice clean place with good ameneties and well priced!
