Google search results now offer three great ways to drill down on a search and find similar topics with the Show Options feature. Take a look at the standard view for the search phrase "real estate blogging." Most of us focus on the individual search results and skip right over the new link that says "Show options ..."

Clicking on "Show options..." opens up a panel on the left-hand side with several choices, including three additional views: Related Search, Wonder Wheel, and Timeline. Here is the Related Search view:

Here is the Wonder Wheel. Darren Rowse (www.ProBlogger.net) has a great video on his Facebook page showing how he uses this.

Here is the Timeline:

Use these new options as part of your keyword research, to see what others are searching for, and to find additional topics to write about. Your blog (and your readers) will thank you!

Quality I can use from a name I trust, John! (Think that was a TV ad slogan a million years ago - can't remember for what.)

Hope lots of folks start using the timeline 'cause the hyper-local push has me sitting pretty for non-local terms too!

I just reviewed the Google wonder wheel video by Darren Rowse.  This option has wonderful potential.  I know I'll be using this one.

WOW John - check you out!  Congrats on the feature.  Thanks for sharing with others some ideas and ways to better utilize google searches. This is great for consumers to read too, it will help them drill down to finding us.  Now you need to do a post about setting up preferences and how to use the "Advanced Search" which many consumers are using already.  Great stuff!!  :-)

John-

Remember when Google users where in the minority? Now that's no longer the case, but the way in which people use google is the next big shift, hopefully. Thanks for this.
