For the past few years the Austin Ice Bats, Austin area's Ice Hockey team, has been aggressively trying to move to Cedar Park. For their first few years in business they were just renting downtown, then they have been renting in North Austin off I-35, but they want a permanent fixture, a place they can call home.

In 2005 I really thought it was coming to fruition, however the developer missed permit filing a couple of times and then the lack of voter support in the form of a bond crushed the deal.

Now apparently their serious. 3 contractors are vying for the job and according to the local news, it doesn't matter who the builder is the building will be open the fall.
