This one is always interesting....Do You Work Short Sales? I used to work them all the time. Now I only work one if a client insists, but first I explain in detail all of the negative aspects of wasting time on putting in short sale offers that often do not turn into closings. Most people are not aware of what a short sale is and assume (incorrectly) that the name implies that these will be quick closings.

Once most people hear the in's and out's of short sales they want to move on to a regular listing. Most of the other realtors I know feel as I do about short sales and also attempt to avoid them. It is as if the banks are in no hurry to close these things and I would like to spend my time getting homes closed for my clients.

So tell me, Do You Work Short Sales?

I don't work them, they work me! ;)

Seriously, I love short sales. Doesn't matter if I am the buyer's agent or seller's agent. I will truly miss these transactions when they are gone. I love the challenge of getting a good deal for my buyers while protecting my clients from a foreclosure and to see them get something out of it as well.

I work a lot with Short Sales, on the listing / seller site and the buyer's site.  I agree that it can be frustrating sometimes, but mostlyit is interesting and challenging. You are helping the seller to avoid foreclosure and when you are on the other site you are helping your buyer to get a good deal.

PS. are you going to the Orlando Expo?

I have had one successful closing for a buyer - though it was stressful all the way.  Now I have 2 transaction on hold, waiting for responses - 2 different buyers.  Nothing seems to be happening.

How are you doing?
