Did the market just slow up all of a sudden or what?

Man, what a great year in real estate.  8K to push buyers, home prices are low, and the house sales are up tremendously for the first time in maybe 6/7 years.

Its Aug. 1st and it seems like the past week, the market just fell out from underneath itself as it did the past 3 years.  Do people not look for homes around this period or is there something major going on this time of year.  School shopping maybe, college kids getting ready to head out of home for school shortly, people going to the lakes to get what is left of the summer or maybe...  I don't have a clue???

Anyone got any ideas why each year it happens?  Cuz I love blogging at open houses instead of meeting new buyers, not!!!

Good post. At least here in Utah is has been slow for me. With the 4th and also the 24th(state holiday-Pioneer Day) things have been slow and potential clients are just looking to the lake for a summer getaway. I think August will pick up, as the 8k will be running out and people tend to focus on home buying/selling closer to fall.

How is your open house going? Have fun! I am sitting a model home.

I'm not enjoying blogging while at an open house today. Much slower than last Sunday. Is it back-to-school? vacation?

I have spoken to over 10 people who are were leaving for vacation last week or are going on one this week.  That's what has been making me want to take one soooo badly, because I keep talking to everyone about their vacations.  They will be back soon, don't worry!

Others talk about busy seasons here in Hawaii but it's really pretty steady year round.  That's especially true now that the mainland buyers are staying put.

It's prime vacation time or staycation depending on the finances. Couldn't blog during my open house because I had interested people. Maybe just might get this one sold.

Over 2,000 homes sold…..

This is not even close to a normal year.  The question is what is the definition of normal as normal varies from region to region and community to community.....and if you focus on what is normal you will end up trying harder at different times of the year and laying back at others.  Real estate will never be consistent.  For my area, August is our slowest time of the year.  Will it happen this year?  I doubt it as there is so much demand that is awaiting for the optimism pill and it appears that the pill is in sight.  Just do your thing and never ever stop.........
