(I have sold property for Realtors(R) from other areas that had property in my area several times.)

Realtors(R) trust other Realtors(R) because we abide by a Code of Ethics and we know the ins and outs of selling a property.  We know how hard it is to find the right buyer.  We know how much frustration can come when appointments are not kept or when sellers do not cooperate and appointments have to be rescheduled.  We know how the weather and the news reports affect the business.  We know how difficult it is for some people to make a decision and how difficult it can be to guide someone without being too pushy or not pushy enough.

We know how the mortgage companies promise but don't always deliver.  We know when inspectors are too picky or appraisers are not familiar with our area.  We know legal issues and who to call for things we are not expert in.  We know disclosure processes.  We know how buyers and sellers second guess themselves and worry.  We know sellers are emotionally attached to their property.  We know buyers are making a life changing decision.  We know sellers and buyers need a third party to negotiate an offer.  We know we need help.

We know to call on Realtors(R) when we are ready to sell.   Shouldn't you?             REALTOR® certification

Ricki

Thanks for this post! Sometimes we beat ourselves up in this business.

But one thing is for certain ...we try to stay on top of things and know who, wha,t where, when, and how to get things done. We keep everybody else involved moving along!

Very well said.  Got me to thinking we really do know quite a bit.  Information if king.

That is right Trey,  the who, what , where , when, etc is what we are all about. Most of us are walking encyclopedias when it comes to the property in our areas.

Howdy there Ricki

I sure do wish I could say the part about Inspector's was not true. But my friend, you are right there are some Inspector's in each and every State, that sometimes make a mountain out of a mola hill.  And end up just doing nothing more than scaring their client. And then to top it off, you have the ones that don't write up things that really do need to written up in the home inspection report. Just because they may not get their name put on a list.

Very fine post!

Howdy Dale,  You are right some do make a mountain out of a mole hill and others don't write up stuff they should because they are afraid of not getting called next time.  We have some fine inspectors in our area though that I thoroughly trust and that do a good job.  There are others though that...This business is hard in every way because we all walk a fine line. Have a good one! :)

These are excellent points Ricki. I know some buyers feel they can do it without the help of a Realtor. Fact is, the Realtor has their best interest in mind. Sure, Realtors work on commission, but that does NOT mean that they will sell you anything. They want to be sure you are happy with your purchase so that they can rely on you for referrals and future purchases. Buyers need the assistance of the Realtor to ensure they are getting the best possible deal and nothing has been missed.

Ricki - You make excellent points with your post.  I think the code of ethics is what sets Realtors apart from other licensees.

The information disseminated to members, keeps us informed, and at the top of our game when it comes to practicing our profession.

Hi Myrl,  There are many benefits available to Realtors and being part of the National Assoc. and State Assoc. does set us apart with opportunities for networking and knowledge.

Carl & Ceil, what a recommendation! Thank YOU!  Wish you were over here for inspections.  I am a little upset with my usual inspector.  He almost cost me a sale on an exceptionally nice home. Couldn't find anything wrong with it so made some stuff up!
