Have you met my friend Angel Walker? If you are an agent or a seller, you should. She is a staging professional. In fact, she is Staging Professionals.
First, let's talk about staging...
Homes for sale need an edge. Vacant homes, or even homes that are less than optimally presented are at a disadvantage to those that are presented optimally. And staging is about presentation. And while design and decor are part of that presentation, they are not all of it. Stagers work over the look of the house to present IT in its best light. Not a furniture display, or an ad for throw pillows, but a presentation of the home to make IT the hero as a buyer views it.
And that is what Angel does. She balances color, texture and weight to make rooms pop for buyers. It isn't about massive changes, but rather tuning a room to make it more attractive to more buyers. Basically, it is to help buyers more easily picture themselves in the home.
What Angel Walker does is both for agents (to make their listings stand out and sell faster) and for sellers (to make theirs to home that gets to the closing table faster).
If you are a seller, and your agent isn't talking to you about a staging consultation, ask them why. A consultation is quite reasonable, and usually the work can be completed by the seller for minimal expense. Even when a vacant property is to be staged, it costs less than one generally imagines.
So, whether you are hiring me as an agent, selling on your own or hiring another agent, give Angel a call. Her contact info is in the above link. BTW, here is a post she wrote for me almost two years ago... S is for Staging.
