Property of Sally

This post marks my #100 post and just as countless members before me I would like to acknowledge a few of my accomplishments. This IS a milestone of pure attraction for this blogging site they call Active Rain Real Estate Network. They have "Hooked on Phonics" for kids so I don't see anything wrong with being "Hooked on Active Rain Blogging" for adults.

I wrote my first post on March 20, 2007 called Ethics, "Rookies" and etc.  I admit this was definitely not one of my better posts...although I do admit that my writing showed through my words even back then.

For so long I had not written anything creative that my writing was coming out in blurbs and burps. From funny to downright hilarious. Then to emotions related to transactions that were either trauma or drama focused. A few of my writings were to vent and to my surprise received overwhelming support from the members.

If it is one thing that I could not bring myself to do was to write a few stats on market conditions and flat out advertising the ME thing. It just did not reflect the person I am, the professional I am and the writing blogger I had become. (had to throw the blogger thing in...haha!)  I realized why. It was not REAL enough for me.

Attracting a following of avid readers of my blog I knew I was noticed for the quality of my writing and for the in depth emotion my words carried along with the meaning...no matter how vaque it may have seemed.

My most recent accomplishment with writing for purposes of "advertising" for my Localism posts hit me in the head about a month ago. Even my "consumer" (public) posts had to be written with emotion and from my heart about the community. About my love for Hawaii. For the natural scenic wonders of our islands that projected the very things I fell in love with. (My goodness. This is starting to sound like a romance novel!)

So for all the newcomers to Active Rain I can only suggest writing from the inside out in your posts as well as with your comments to others posts.

  • Write with conviction
  • Write with wit, humor and emotion
  • Write with the intent of giving back to the community
  • Write with integrity, honesty and respect
  • Write a comment or two relating to the post you just read (it shows sincerity)
  • Write from your own thoughts and creativity (it's not hard to tell if it's a copy job)
  • And make sure to give back as much as you take
  • Write from example of the all mighty great bloggers here

This community is for "NETWORKING" and in my opinion it means give and take. We all take from this community by utilizing what they have offered us.  Give back a little and you will surely see the results. With any relationship it is a give and take situation or it doesn't work. Believe this.

If you were a consumer .....what kind of writing would you like to read about?

I have written many articles thanking all who have supported me and because I do not want to get into a detailed post with links of people etc. I will just leave one link My Voice? My Blog? My What? with some credits.

Suzanne:  I admit! It's the chocolate!  I am such a finatic...I have cut down my intake in half since Randy isn't chiming in with me at the office anymore. In fact, I think I've cut down seriously....just my hubby broke down at the grocery store when I was at the office earlier.

Sally,

I hear you on the chocolate, my hubby is the worst addict! I love chocolate, but I look at it and gain weight!

A client once sent me a chocolate of the month as a closing gift, every month was exciting to get a new box of chocolates. It was such a sweet reminder of the client every month. :)

Sally -- 100 -- is not a bad number.  Thanks for your insights.  I have been trying to follow those things you have highlighted.  I hope I reach 100 -- I have a long way to go and a lot to learn.

Joan: If you write from mind, heart and soul then it just flows out....otherwise it will be the short blunt no meaning posts you see.  I too have a long way to go and a lot to learn. Along the way I surely learn from the other members here. In fact, I just went back and forth with Abraham regarind feeds and stuff.  If you give a little you get so much back from others who are willing to help.

Celeste,

100 Posts is a major acheivement, especially in the amount of time you did them. Can you say you owe it all to Active Rain? I think Active Rain has a way of bringing out writing skills in people that didn't even know they had them!  You are one of those. Congratulations, I know it had to have been a lot of hard work!

Woo Hoo Sally...

Oh My Goodness...You hit 100 posts faster than many people I know. This is truly amazing. It's seems like just yesterday I was nicknaming you Woo Hoo and you were asking me not to call you George :)

Do you remember all of that? I certainly do. I remember it because you cracked me up when you said that.

Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the impact you have made here on Active Rain.

This place needed more than a few "Woo Hoo's" and some "True Colors" :)

Jeff: Thanks...to me it seems like a long time ago! Thanks!

Abraham:  Expectations get me in trouble...haha~!  Double dare...you're on!

Randy:  Yes....I blog....power blogger?  Aren't those the ones who write a couple of lines of uninteresting material?  Oh, it's good ones like mine?  Hahahah.....thanks!

Laurie: Thanks Laurie!

Karen:  I went back and edited the "heartfelt appreciation to Active Rain" that you may have missed. I surely worked hard and Active Rain gave me this opportunity. Without it where would anyone be?

Bryant:  I just had a big tear roll down my face!  Okay, a little exaggeration but still a little tearing. Someone wrote a blog stating that if he wanted to make friends he would go to a chat room. Well, that's not true. It's ones who can shine and show "good" true colors through their writing and you can feel the "real" stuff are the ones that become real friends as well. Thanks for your kind words.

TLW:  I remember that!  (My Gary always says that...when I say he's an a___ ___e..hahaha) And hey, you know I crack my own self up when saying stuff as well!  And I totally agree with the "more" true colors. I think I'm all the WooHoo everyone can handle....hahahahahahaha!  I know what you mean. Real people are hard to come by....."good" true colors (have to put the word good) are even harder....as we find through situations and circumstances that "bad" true colors come out more and more as one gets to know someone who was hiding....okay....need to go back to the 16 oz. cup of coffee....remember...it's now 6:25 here (I've been on for 45 or more minutes) Thanks for the compliments and comments.  WooHoo!

You guys notice when you both come on I put my response in the same box?  Cute yeah?

Jeff: I have had many soliciting calls (funny but true) and two potential client's that I have set up with auto notifications of listings. One is coming next week...one is coming from Canada in a couple of months. (Randy...on AR and in my office as well has closed on a transaction from a lead through AR) I think most of all I appreciate the networking. Sooner or later one of my military clients is going to pcs back to the mainland and I now have more resources (it's a good place to meet and "interview" potential agents to take good care of my client's) Not many people are running to move here (high cost of living) although our market prices are high so any lead is worth the follow up. Thanks for asking!
