Opened in 1991 the Famous American Barber Shop in Woodbridge VA has become a local landmark. The exterior looks like any barber shop, but once inside you realize you have walked into a collection of American memorabilia not typically found in a barber shop.
Police officers and firefighters from all over the country have visited the Famous American Barber Shop and left their organization's patch to decorate the walls.
There are eight barber chairs and five of the eight barbers have been there about 15 years. My husband, for example, will sit and wait for "his" barber even if she has several others ahead of him. That is a common occurence in this barber shop. In fact, Arthur was waiting for "his" barber when he took the photos I am using. He's been going there so long he blames "his" barber for his gray hair

- All of the barber's wastebaskets have NFL logos

There are now three more Famous American Barber Shops in addition to the original Woodbridge VA location. One is in Manassas and two of them in Gainesville VA. If they are anything like the original Woodbridge barber shop they will become landmarks in their section of Prince William County, VA
