Chaos is the default position of the world. Anything left unattended, eventually, will succumb to this natural position. This is as true with your room, as much as it is for your business, and also for your relationships. It takes energy to prevent chaos from taking control of your life.

This energy can be in the form of cleaning up your bedroom, or cleaning up the clutter on your desk at work, or putting the time to ask how someone's day is going AND actually be interested in the answer. Consider the continuous ‘up-keep' and expenditure of energy as ‘preventative maintenance' of your life. So take control of your life, and beat back the hold that chaos has on your life.

Create a schedule AND stick to it! Predictability gives stability: in your business and your relationships alike.

I find that it is very helpful to outline my day before it begins. Obviously, you need to be able to move things around and be flexable. If you know what you need to to do, you are more likely to get it done.

I find that when I am organized I feel like life is much less chaotic. A schedule keeps you on track and makes sure you get things done. Well said!

I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

 Best regards.

I am a very structured, disciplined person and almost everyday I plan my day ahead of time.  The challenge in this business is not to let outside influences pull you from that schedule.  But it is pretty difficult at times.  I absolutely HATE chaos, but like you noted, it is the default position of most things in life.  Good post and best of luck to you.

Nicholas- I agree with the outline theory, and believe whole heartedly in turning all goals into actionable to-do lists.

Michael- Thanks for reading and I will.

I hadn't actually thought of the chaos theory in just this way, but you've got me attacking my desk, and when I get home, it's time to sort out that  house!
