Ever since I was young, I've had an interest in stars.

The only two I still know are the North Star and the Big Dipper.

As I got older, I recognized stars in just about everything. In school, I got gold stars for perfect attendance.

Even here on Earth, Mother and Father Nature are fond of putting lots of stars in our lives, if we'll only stop and look:

Five-pointed star     Five-pointed star

Five-pointed star     Five-pointed star

Who are the stars in your life? Professional mentor? Boss? Mom and dad? Older Brother? Younger sister?

In whose lives are you the star? Spouse? Children? Clients?

What makes a star? What makes you a star? I can give you some ideas:

  • Honesty
  • Integrity
  • Ethics
  • Customer service
  • Operating Hours
  • Accessibility

Ultimately, though, you have to decide for yourself, but of one thing I can be certain: YOU can....

BE A STAR!

Five-pointed star

Russel, beautiful pictures, and your post is very down to earth. Yes indeed, we can all be stars. Great post! Thank you, sometimes a reminder is a very good thing.

Fantastic post and photos Russell. You always find a way to find the beauty in what is all around us that we fail to look at. Of course, I'm beginning to believe that you could find beauty in a pile of dog poop! Have a fantastic evening!

Russel, There are stars all around---if we keep our eyes open.  I often look to the sky and wish I could read the clouds...or the stars.

Hi Russel, Terrific photos! There are so many stars out there! I think I am a star in my grandson's eyes, when I have all the sprinkles, and decorations to make his favorite gingerbreadmen!

Hey, Andrea - Most people think stars are in the sky, but there are many stars on Earth, including over six billion people who could be stars.

Hey, Rebecca - AND you have a beautiful hibiscus star, too!

Hey, Team Honeycutt - I suspect there are a few people in your office who are stars, too, most specifically, probably, the founding members of Team Honeycutt!

Hey, Robert - I suppose you included a picture of that huge star called the sun so that you could outshine all the other stars - LOL.

Hey, Jim - I've been trying to find the comment on poop because I didn't remember who it was or what blog post it was in. Now that I've found you....

Hey, Tony & Darcy - No surprise that there are some stars in southern Utah where the skies aren't clouded by smog.

Hey, Diane - There are even more stars once we do start looking.

Hey, Judy - You can send me some stars at night if you'd like. Ours are almost always obscured by the marine layer.

Hey, Carole - I actually would be willing to bet that YOU actually can read the clouds and stars.

Hey, Mary - So you're a gingerbread star. I think Zoey the Cool Cat thinks of me the same way, as her food star, love star, and pooper scooper star.

Hey, Lynn - Five-pointed stars are the most common, and they are everywhere - Dallas Cowboys, many car wheels, etc.

Russel: I am just now reading some posts linked within Wordless Wednesday. Great photos of the "stars" with no poop.  I'm not sure about what appears to be a dead baby chick in the road. There was disconnect and disharmony for me seeing that at the end of all the beauty.
