PIZZA CASTLE- Waterbury, CT: The Best Pizza In Town

restaurants

Pizza Castle pizza is  the best pizza I have ever had in my 35 years of living.

But pizza is pizza, right?

NOPE.

When you want thick crust, with lots of cheese, and an abundance of your choice of toppings (pepperoni and sausage are my favorites), then there is only one local restaurant that can deliver a piece of pie so good that you'll just have to come back for more.

The great thing about Pizza Castle is that they do not just serve pizza.

I discovered chicken marsala when I was in college, and when I came back home, the only place that could serve it correctly was...you guessed it...Pizza Castle.

Stuffed shells? One of my wife's favorites. Where does she always order it from? Yes, Pizza Castle.

Pizza Castle, as it is called by the locals, is formally known as the Castle Restaurant and Pub. Located on 143 Chase Avenue across from Waterbury Plaza, Pizza Castle has been a Waterbury landmark since 1978, when it was first opened.

Besides pizza, and the usual fare at the pub, Pizza Castle offers a variety of Italian and American cuisine, as well as seafood. Lunch and dinner at Pizza Castle can be a sit-down affair, with its antique setting, mirrored walls, and even an outside patio, or you can order your pizza or other menu items to go. There is dleivery service in the Waterbury area available.

On certain days of the week, Pizza Castle offers great deals on pizza and other menu items.

No, not really, Liz. The one thing that they all have in common is that they do all sell pizza....but I have focused on the non-pizza aspects of the other two because, as I said here, this place has the best pizza, imho. The other two places I have featured (one way before this local business challenge) provide other menu offerings that make them the place to go for those. See my post on Louie's Pizza House and Amalfi's Pizza and Italian Ristorante, and you'll see what I mean.

I don't know William, seems to me your hobby is food?  AND as I open up AR this morning, let me be the first to say CONGRATS on the 100,000 point milestone.

Ed, not even. I've gotten away from eating too much. The thing is, I had been thinking about posting about these particular establishments way before the local business challenge came up, because, as I mentioned to Liz, they all offer something besides pizza that I particularly care for and only order from those restaurants. That being said, I can understand why someone would draw that conclusion..And thanks. It is only about a month late or so...If I had been on my game from the time I started blogging, goodness, I'd probably be almost at 125K by now. But I'm only moving forward from here!

This is the first time I've ever seen lobster advertised on a Pizza sign.  It definitely sounds like a great place to eat.
