Real Estate Referralreferral

We all have spent time sitting around around wondering how to get more business. In this day and age, it is about relationships. In your business plan, I'm sure there is a spot on your list about networking. Networking is a great idea. A good network can create numerous real estate referral sources for you. The funny thing is, is that it seems most salespeople don't take the time out of their day to do it. It is the easiest thing to cut out.

Tomorrow is the same. You want to get real estate referrals, but how do you do it?

If you are a Real Estate agent, you would love to have a steady source of pre-approved leads in your area. You know that they are ready to buy and that they can buy. As a Mortgage Professional, you would love to get the referral from the Real Estate Agent. They have found the home, now all you have to do is put the loan together. The problem with this idea is that so many of the professionals in our industry want to get the business, but don't do a lot to give it back. Sure, you might forward the occasional lead that you receive, but are you actively looking to help your referral partners?

I have found that the best real estate referral partnerships go both ways. Maybe you do advertising together. Maybe you have a marketing strategy and share it with your partner. Bottom line - this is a partnership. Many of the representatives that I speak with have a hard time getting started. How do I find the right people to partner with? It is not always going to be a fit. You will need to be able to communicate well with your real estate referral. Many folks have a few partners for different types of clients. I think that this is a great idea. Who knows your client? You do. You can then establish what type of personality will work best with them.

As a Mortgage Professional, I have found that the best way to meet new Real Estate Professionals is to give great service on my purchase transactions. Obviously, I keep in contact with my client and the Buyer's Agent. What about the Seller's Agent? Do I need to call them with updates? No, but I do. Everything that the client and his agent know, the seller's agent knows as well. Copied on all emails and a few phone calls right away. There are multiple sides to all transactions. If we all work together, we will be able to address all issues as a team and get it done. I have teamed up with many of my Real Estate Referral Partners this way. referral money

I have a few marketing campaigns and websites that draw traffic as well. A lot of the interest is for purchases. I normally have a few agents who are constantly getting purchase leads from me. These agents know I take of my business, and I share my business with them. In return, they have no problem sharing their business with me.

There are many ways to create a successful real estate referral relationship. It comes down to teamwork and a common goal. Take care of the clients and move forward together.

You're a great lender Nicholas sending leads out to your agents.  I've never received ONE from any lender I've sent business to in the decade of being in the business - oh well maybe I did get one once...
