Now that you have purchased your beautiful new home in Middletown, Connecticut, gone to Smith & Bishel for your new locks, paint, and hardware supplies.  Visited to the Stone Post Gardens to get plants and flowers to spruce up the outside of your beautiful new home.  Then made a trip to Lino's Market in Durham to get all the food that you will need for your first party to show off your beautiful new home.  You will now need some wine to go with that delicious food, and there is no better place to go to than my favorite local winery, Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut.

Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut does not only have the best wine in the State, in my opinion, but it is also located in a beautiful setting were you can just sit back and sample some of their many wines, or just stop by to purchase a few bottles for those special occasions.

Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut is my favorite winery not only because they have the best wine in my opinion, but also because it is run and owned by a Portuguese family, and it just so happens that I was born in the Azores, Portugal, so I do feel a special connection.

Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut is the result of a dream of the Gouveia family to bring to America a resemblance of their grandfather's vineyard in Portugal.  This dream became a reality in 1999 when the vineyard first opened up.  Since then the family expanded this beautiful facility in 2007, and now has additional space where visitors can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with their wine.

Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut sits high on a hill, with a beautiful view of the surrounding area.  It is truly an experience to sit back and take in the view while sampling their wines.  I have been to other wineries, but the setting and atmosphere at Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut is unmatched by any other.

Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut has received many awards for their wine.  Last year alone they received a Gold Medal for their Stone House Red, a Silver Medal for the Cabernet Franc, a Silver Medal for the Merlot, another Silver Medal for the Stone House White, and a Bronze Medal for their Cayuga.

My personal favorite is the Cabernet Franc, it is perfect with a Fillet Mignon from Lino's Market, but you are sure to find a wine at Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford Connecticut that will accompany perfectly any food you decide to serve, or to just sit back and enjoy in the evening.

So make Gouveia Vineyards, located at 1339 Whirlwind Hill Road, Wallingford, Connecticut, one of the must see places, whether you are a resident of Connecticut or just passing through.  Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, Connecticut is truly worth experiencing.
