Here's this weeks average mortgage interest rates based on a survey of large lenders:

Mortgage Interest Rates:  (30 yr fixed) 6.61 percent, Average points: 0.26
Mortgage rates KEEP CLIMBING in the midst of the housing market slump. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 6.61 percent w/ .26 points from 6.47 percent last week.  The average 15-year fixed rose from 6.21% last week to 6.33%.  The average jumbo 30-year fixed rose to 6.86 percent. Adjustable-rate mortgages:  5/1 ARM rose from last week to 6.52 percent, the one-year ARM rose to 6.19 percent.  

Rate's can be lowered by paying additional points.

Home Equity Rates:  HELOC:  8.17 percent, Home Equity Loan:  7.96 percent
Has been the same as the last couple of weeks.
