Mt. Yonah in the North Georgia Mountains by Richard WeisserWe face obstacles every day in our professions and life in general. And typically, we are prone to complain about the hardships we are forced to endure. Nothing wrong with that way of thinking, after all, it's human nature.

But there is something exciting and exhilarating about meeting a challenge head on, and with perseverance and determination, being able to overcome it.

Because our greatest level of satisfaction is not derived from accomplishing the ordinary, but from achieving success against all odds.

And that is what makes life interesting!

Richard - Ultimately it is less work and heartache to just go ahead and deal with whatever demon is in front of us.  It takes more energy and time to keep pushing it to the end of the list, only to have to repeat this motion over and over.  Deal with it, put it away and move on.  Much easier on the mind, soul and body.  :)

Richard,

Everday seems to be a challenge lately in Real Estate, but they are good they keep you busy and when you have made the accomplishment you even feel better.  You just have to keep a positive frame of mind when your positive nothing can stop you.

Richard - sometimes that challenge is just getting the coffee going in the morning. But I certainly do feel a lot better after that first sip.

Recently I have been doing just this - attempting to meet a challenge head on & first so I can get it out of the way & on with my day!

Richard:  There certainly aren't a shortage of obstacles lately in our business.  I think you need to get our your crowbar and pry into Pat Kennedy's relationship issues.  Maybe time for another Dear Richard?

Through every situation and circumstance there is ALWAYS a learning lesson. Human nature to complain and to feel emotion. It's all in the manner of how i handle it.

Some of my most memorable transactions were great learning experiences and even though stressful during the transaction I did get the most satisfaction from them. Thanks for the reminder.

Anything worth having is never easy to achieve. Just bulldoze your way through the hard times and on the other side is usually something worth having.

Richard,

It is always good to push onward when time get tough and not just sit down and do nothing or take the easy way out.  This saying was sent to me this morning and fits well here:

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Richard - Challenges are simply opportunities.  We make of them what we want.  We try to teach our new agents to break things into smaller steps and goals.  Because there is immense satisfaction of meeting a goal.  Nice post - enjoyed the read.
