It seems that many people who move to San Diego, or upgrade to a new home, would like a swimming pool. Certainly, having one -- and maintaining it -- is something that everyone should do at least once in their lives.
Unfortunately, it takes time to maintain a pool, time you could spend enjoying it rather than taking care of it.
Add to that the fact that San Diego is under a Level II Drought Alert, and you'll realize at least two things:
Water is scarce
The sun is shining a lot, which means water is evaporating from your swimming pool, water that needs to be replaced.
Enter Mission Valley condo living, right here in San Diego, California!
Not only do most of the Mission Valley condo complexes have swimming pools -- that they take care of -- many of them also have spas, outdoor grills and picnic areas, fitness centers, clubhouses, tennis courts, waterfalls, streams, and water fountains. If you can't find it in your Mission Valley condo complex, it's sure to be found somewhere in Mission Valley or close by -- golf, beaches, skiing, sailing, wildlife.

Jim, Great blog and I speak from experience, as I have had two pools. One right now and it is high maintenance!!! Can I borrow your concept for Temecula with its pool communities???
This is a really good post. Aside from the great information, can you tell me how you formatted the post? I can only seem to left justify photos in my posts. Do you write them somewhere else and then copy/paste them to A/R?
Hey, Dan - That seems so true but what inspired me to do this post was a report that many people who own homes with pools are spending $15,000 to remove the pool and fill in the hole in the ground. Seems the drought, cost of water, cost of electricity, cost of gas, cost of maintenance, etc., are putting an end to many pools,
Hey, Robert - They are a pain to maintain, speaking from my own experience. That's why it's useful to either pay someone else to do it or to buy a condo where the condo association hires someone to do it.
Hey, Jane - If you have to ask the question, then the answer is no yes - LOL.
Hey, Jenny - Once you upload your photo, add alternate text to it and then click on the "Appearance" tab. There you will find all the controls to place your photo and how much room to leave around the photo. If you need help, call my marketing guru at 619-341-0173. He's always available to walk people through computer issues like this.
