Kathleen:  The first thing that popped into my head... is that these obvious street lights, or pole lights, are at some sort of light rail or train station... waiting for darkness so they can light the way for weary travelers.  Just a thought.

KAREN ANNE: You have the right thing that popped into your head but it is not lighting the way for "WEARY TRAVELERS" Thanks for stopping by and guessing.

Someplace on a boardwalk?  A pier?

Perhaps these light posts are just outside the door of a local title company... put there to "light the way" for weary Realtors exiting a closing... LOL.

Hi Kathleen~ I love Karen's answer above!  Some of those closings will really wear you out!

Karen Anne: I think they should be moved to a location as you suggest. The local title company IS NOT where they are at present.

VICKIE: I agree Karen Anne's answer to the location was a good location but unfortunately not where they are today,

Another guess:  The lamp posts are at the Valley Falls Heritage Park... along the river... either on the Park side, or the other side.  I clicked on your address, and saw there was a river... several rivers, actually, and a park nearby.  Am I getting closer ?

KAthleen, are theyin Newport?  If not, then Block, although I don't recall then on Block.  I think Newport is a better guess.

Kathleen, they look like lamp posts on an historic street. Just a guess.

KAREN ANNE:  A clue: It is in the other state that I service and am licensed, Massachuesetts and not Rhode Island. However I love the indept investigation. The lamp posts along the Valley Falls Heritage Park... do look similar. Valley Falls Heritage Park

KEVIN:Sorry it is not Newport nor Block Island but it is at a vacation resort place in Massachusetts. I take my photos in the 2 states that I service, RI and MA.

IRENE: You are correct in guessing LAMP POSTS and they are somewhere where people vacation and a tourist spot in Massachusetts.

MICHAEL:They are lamp posts located at a familar spot in a historic place where tourists vacation originally settlers settled there in 1642. It became Incorporated in 1880 and re*named in 1907,

Kathleen:  If it is a historic spot in Massachusetts, a place where tourists visit often, than it could only be ONE place.  The lamp posts are outside the bar that that was the inspiration for the Cheers TV show.  What better tourist place could there BE in Massachusetts... LOL.

Well... seriously, it's going to be up to you local folks, because I know nothing about piers in Massachusetts.

WAIT... how about lamp posts on the piers next to where the BOSTON TEA PARTY was held.  The original one, not those silly ones they are holding lately.

CARON: It is a famous resort place in the Town of Oak Bluffs, on the northeast shore of the island
of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Originally settled in 1642, and incorporated in 1880 as "Cottage City"
