If you leave a comment, Jim will visit your blog and comment. One of the things that I do to relax is play the piano, both in the privacy of my own home, with some chamber music groups in San Diego, and occasionally in a concert.

Tonight (8/7/09) at 7:00 p.m., Joanne Regenhardt (narrator), Janelle Destefano (mezzo soprano), and I (piano) will be performing Achille Claude Debussy -- Flower Child, Impressionist, Revolutionary for residents of The White Sands of La Jolla, 7450 Olivetas Avenue, La Jolla. The concert is free and should last about 1½ hours. While the concert generally is not open to the public, friends and guests of the performers are allowed. So if you have nothing to do on a Friday night, come see me, especially since my special guest page turner will be our own ActiveRain member Russel Ray.

Music selections (all by Debussy, and voice accompanied by me on piano) will be Syrinx (saxophone), C'est L'extase (voice), General Lavine (piano), Clair de Lune (piano), Chevaux de Bois (voice), Pagodes (piano), Serenade for the Doll (piano), Les Collines D'anacapri (piano), Nuit D'etoile (voice), Beau Soir (voice), Il Pleure Dans Mon Coeur (voice), Pour Les Arpeges Composes (piano), and Lisle Joyeuse (piano).

Hi Jim, Could you come over to my house and play... I need the therapy! Have fun tonight!

Hey Jim wish I was in San Diego. I would love to hear you play! Have fun, and as they say in the entertainment world "break a leg"!

6:38pm • #2

I meant to ask, how did Russel get onboard with this? From what I have been led to believe the only music he got from Texas A&M was tribal drums and human like gutteral moans!

I wish I could be there.  I know you will be wonderful!  It would be really cool if it got posted on YouTube.

Very nice, Jim.  Have you ever recorded any of your playing?  I can't hear it from here, though I'd like to.

Jim, I hope it went well. A man of many talents you are! And yes, I would love to hear you play. How about a challenge to you and your marketing guru.

A video of you playing... :D

The musical realtor, a really sweet tune.

Music to my ears...

Hey, Shirley - Are you paying the airfare? I'd love to get back to Austin and San Antonio.

Hey, Dan - I think we broke a leg because we had a full house of about 300 people and got a standing ovation, something that assisted living facility audiences rarely give anyone. I won't tell Russel what you said because I know you didn't say it. I think it came from that teasip wife of yours - LOL.

Hey, Ann - Two students from the UCLA film school recorded the whole concert, so who knows?

Hey, Kathy - I know you were here in spirit.

Hey, Irene - We've got thousands of kitty pictures, so we put a different one in each post. Keeps it interesting.

Hey, Lynn - Well, then, next time you come you better call us.

Hey, Patricia - Thanks. It might be on YouTube eventually.

Hey, Al & Peggy - See my comment above to Ann. Here's a picture from our previous Rachmaninoff concert.

Hey, Susan - See my comment above to Ann.

Hey, Andrea - I do use musical notes in much of my marketing and have received one Client with two transactions because of it.
