Haymarket, Virginia's Subway is a true Mom and Pop operation. You wouldn't think of a national franchise like Subway as a Mom and Pop store, but I assure you the Haymarket, Virginia Subway is exactly that.
Both Haymarket, Virginia Subway sandwich shops are owned and operated by Govind and Manssi Mainali. However, I still love the original Haymarket, Virginia Subway located at 6747 Leaberry Way, off of the Town of Haymarket's main drag (John Marshall Highway). Eating in this Haymarket, Virginia Subway is a pleasure. Good food and great people! Manssi and Govind work out of this location and bring a special warmth and friendliness to the place.
If you frequent this Haymarket, Virginia Subway, Manssi and Govind will get familiar with you and your order. Manssi will see me coming and know exactly how to make my tuna sub. She doesn't have to ask anymore. And it's been well over eighteen months since our Long & Foster office in Haymarket, just down the strip from their store, relocated.
When Manssi makes my sandwich, or her right hand gal (pictured), it's like your Mom is making you lunch. Extra care and attention is given to your order and you are made to feel more welcome than you would in any other fast food establishment. It's what makes me drive past two other Subway sandwich stores to get to theirs.
Manssi has said that the reason this Subway restaurant has such a special feel is that the patrons in the Town of Haymarket are so friendly. I don't know who started the friendly bug, but there is no question that the Town of Haymarket's Subway is the friendliest spot I know.
Govind and Manssi operate a total of four Subway restaurants, including the one located in Dominion Valley and two locations in Warrenton. All of their stores are wonderful, but the Town of Haymarket's Subway is the one where you will truly feel like a part of the neighborhood. These folks may not remember your name, but they will remember your face and your sandwich order and treat you like a friend.
