When it comes to being successful in the real estate business the key is Customer Service. Technology, competition and unlimited access to information for consumers make referrals and word of mouth a vital role to building a successful business.

Realtor's can't simply rely on selling a house quickly for a great price or finding the best value to buyers. Vital points of interest and demands from our informed and intelligent sellers and buyers when choosing an agent are:

•-         A friendly personality. People like to do business with someone who is genuinely pleasant; putting the customers needs first, and cooperative with a positive attitude.

•-         Knowledgeable and resourceful. Great agents keep their knowledge base up-to-date. No one knows all, which is why having access to experts in all fields is a must.

•-         Trust. This speaks for itself. It is important for customers to be confident in you and your abilities. Take time to build a level of ease and assurance as a foundation for making and building relationships.

•-         Efficiency. Again, customers want fast, easy, and informative information. Time is essential these days. Make sure that your communications are clear and effective.

•-         Ask questions. Determine the needs of your customers and make sure that you fully understand what they want and desire with you. Ask the basic questions: what, where, why, when, and how. Remember to thank them when appropriate, common courtesy should always be practiced.

•-         Listen. Concentrate on your customer and don't interrupt. Pay attention to non-verbal communication, take notes, be alert, provide feedback and then re-instate what has been said so that you are both on the same page and have full clarity.

•-         Be pro-active. Start moving immediately to find buyers or sell their home. Don't be a time waster! Buyers and Sellers expect results and fast. Do your homework to make sure your price is right, marketing is optimal, and your commitments kept and on time.

Remember that your reputation is more important than what or how much you sell. Go the extra mile. Real estate is a sales oriented business, but more than ever, it's all about service. If you can exceed your customers expectations then you will get the much coveted referral business you deserve.
