Sheldon, I was thinking about picking up a pair for my sweetie!

And Cindy, he's sort of tucked away, out of the way, in front of one of the most fabulous homes I've ever been in.  He's on S Street near the "Spainish Steps".

Pat:  Very interesting bear.  And they call it Hug Bear?  Doesn't look like he'd be too easy to hug.

Very cute! Reminds me of the Painted Ponies - must be one of the same sorts of things - I've seen cows, too, and our community did the same thing with elk. Lots of fun!

Andrea, so far, they've done donkeys, elephants and pandas.  I do hope that cows are next!

Janice, next time you're in town, call and I'll take you over there!

Chris Ann, I call it a Hug Bear.  All cute bears are Hug Bears!

And Debi, every couple of years, they have a couple of hundred of these decorated by local artists, then they get auctioned off to raise money for some good cause.  When they do cows, I'll start bidding!

Love the bear.  We have painted ponies in our downtown area here in Montana.  They've held up in all kinds of weather.

Pat,

Was that guy painted in Mexico. I saw several artists down there doing that great detail work.

Hi Pat... I think that Panda is great.  The Panda has really become something of a symbol for DC because of the Pandas at the National Zoo.  I like it!

Pat - that is one colorful bear.I think I like the britches best. There was a great exhibit of painted cows in New Haven CT some years ago - they were all over town. It was great fun to see.

Pat this is too cute.  He looks like he could do with a little tummy rub. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Patricia,

I don't think you stumbled across that in DC.  Aloha & best wishes.
