Myrl, look at that water, wow, looks wonderful! I bet the kids had a great time! And your caption is perfect.

I don't think they'd make it 5 feet. However, dreams start somewhere. What a gorgeous photo.

Myrl, look at all that water ... that is so beautiful. Wish I could be somewhere like that right now. It's raining cats and dogs here in Pa. Oh by the way ... no, I can't swim across.

Andrea - The water is Lake Tahoe. This area is called, Sand Harbor.

Larry - Actually, the bigger of the two girls, would probably make it a 200 yeards or so before she quit. She is a fearless swimmer, who is more fish than kid. The littler one, might make it 5 feet.

Suesan - I've been hearing about your unusual weather back there! The spot in the picture is Lake Tahoe. I'm sure you would enjoy it on a day like today. By the way, I like your new picture!

Myrl- Gorgeous photo. Funny, but we both did photos today showing grandchildren (great ones for me) comtemplating the vastness of water in front of them. To be a kid once again.

Myrl: I can almost feel the sun bouncing off that beautiful water. What a great shot. Wish I lived closer to a water getaway.

If they can think it, they can do it. I love the perspective of the picture. It flows really well from the kids, to the water, to the mountains.

I remember, as a child, looking out into similar waters. It's an excellent childhood dream!

Myrl - that is absolutely adorable! And that lake ... gorgeous! I bet those two little ones will look at that picture many years from now and wonder .... what in the world were we thinking?! LOL Thanks for the Sunday morning smile.

What a great shot, however, I don't think they could swim all that way, I know I couldn't.

Chris Ann - I was sitting there under a canopy with my family, watching the sun prance from ripple to ripple. It appeared as shimmering diamonds on a lake of blue.

Richard - Well thank you Kind Sir! It was a hard scene to leave behind, that's for sure!

Leolinda - Lake Tahoe is one of those lakes that isn't ever really truly warm. . .The snow still on the sierras in the background provides a clue why that is.

Carol - I remember succinctly what the bigger girl was thinking - She had just asked that littler one the question, "Do you think we can swim across?" The littler one reached for her life-ring:-)

June - I couldn't do it either. And I swim 2 miles several times a week. It would be the temperature of the lake that would stop me!

Sea to Sky - Yes, it was a "real Summer" moment. . .We flew kites on the beach, rafted, had a picnic, and some of us napped.

Mary - Well I'm glad you like the pictures. . .I certainly enjoy your visits:-)

Myrl, Our water is grey compared to this, it is just beautiful! Swim? I can't swim I'm sorry to say--I can't even float :)

Myrl What a lovely shot. I am getting to the other side had crossed their minds.

I am not used to seeing anything other than the horizon when looking across water this clear.....except for the mountains I would think it was the Gulf of Mexico. The girls are adorable!

...ahhh!!! don't do it girls..then again, they're probably better swimmers than me. I love this picture, Myrl.

Debi - The Sand Harbor area of Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places to play:-)

Carole - Everyone can float or swim. . .They just need to learn how:-)

Ann - That would be true! I've sat on the beaches of the Pacific and seen nothing on the horizon other than an occassional ship going by.

Gerry - There is something in the DNA of little girls less than 10 years of age, which ALWAYS demands that pink be added to their fashion sense:-)

Gary - I think it may quite possibly be one of the most beautiful lakes on earth.

Myrl - I knew before reading the comments that this was Lake Tahoe and what a beautiful lake it is! I swam on the swim team in school for 4 years and have been a big swimmer all my life.

I believe if the water was not to cold I could still swim across this lake, it might take me a couple days but I think I could do it!

Robert - I'm also a swimmer. I swim a couple miles, several times a week. At one point I considered the Alcatraz swim. I was certain I could handle the distance, the waves, and the sharks. Afterall, there are more sharks on land than ever dwelled in the sea. But there is no way I can handle the temperature of the water. Lake Tahoe would provide the same challenge. Thank you for the California Dreaming feature. It's greatly appreciated!

Hi Myrl, This is the case where a picture is worth a thousand words! The colors are stunning and the girls are beautiful ( I can tell without even seeing their faces.) This is an amazing picture!

Myrl - You always seem to capture the moment perfectly in a stunning photo. BTW - I wouldn't want to swim to Alcatraz either :-)

Myrl - I think I could do it with a wet suit!

That is a beautiful photo of Lake Tahoe Myrl. I live on Lake Travis outside Austin but the lake levels are so low here I can't remember the last time I actually got on the water!!
