If you live in Texas, you realize that any outdoor summer fun MUST involve WATER!! :)  Our youth group went this past week to Splashtown to enjoy a fun-filled day at the waterpark.  I had not been to this park in YEARS, and so it was fun to accompany the youth and ride all the rides just like when I was a kid!! Here we are at the wave pool for a group picture.

Though we could have stayed a few more hours, the park closed at 7PM.  We posed for a group photo at the end of our tour d' Splashtown.

If you are visiting the Houston area and looking for a fun place to take the kids, I highly recommend SPLASHTOWN!!  Open daily through August 23, 2009.  Open weekends through September 20.  For hours of operation and directions, see www.splashtownpark.com  Just to let you know, in addition to your tickets, plan on $10 for parking.  Food is expensive, so we met at Wendy's at 11 (right next door), ate lunch, and then went to the waterpark.  OR you can picnic OUTSIDE the park.  There are some picnic tables under trees just outside the park.  ALSO, you can go to the concession areas and ask for a complimentary cup of water, and they will be happy to give you water. (Some friends of mine who had season passes said this was news to them...so I thought I'd mention it to YOU!! :)  )  Bottled water is available for $3 if you prefer that.

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE SUMMER!!!!!

Sonya, It looks like you had fun!!  I drive by the park all the time but have not been in YEARS!!  I expect they have added a lot of new rides since we last went.
