It's been very difficult to be motivated to work this weekend.  Chicago has been experiencing 90°+ weather... with 650% humidity (okay, I might be exaggerating a touch about the humidity). We're having a heat wave.

But it's been really hot and humid all weekend.  We're having a little break this a.m. The humidity seems to be fairly normal, and it's only going to be in the 80's.

Saturday, I had showings, but not too many.  It was the kind of weather, where you peel your shirt off the seat back.

I was very grateful that we live during the age of air-conditioning.

We spent Saturday night at the movie theatre (saw 500 days of Summer, with Zooey Deschanel... don't ask...)...but at least is was dark and cool.

Hopefully today will give us a break.

I'm not sure I'm willing to give up the total change of seasons quite yet, Charles.

Alan, who was it that said, "You have to suffer if you want to sing the blues":)

That movie got good reviews, I'm sorry you didn't like it.  It's hot as hell here as well.

Suffering is highly overrated, Charles.

Susan - the concept was cute... and I generally like a chick-flick.... but this was an UBER-chick flick.. a little too much over the top.  It bills itself as "This is not a love story... it's a story about love"... and once you've seen it, you'll recognize it's true.

The concept of dissecting 500 days of a relationship, and bouncing back and forth was kinda cool... a little shout-out to Kurt Vonnegut and Slaughterhouse 5... but it was slow... took a long time to try to make me care about the characters (it never succeeded)... and the best line of the movie, was the last line... too damn late).

It's starting to feel like Houston here in DC!  We're supposed to be over 100 today!  I'm inside with the AC blasting, though I know that's not real green of me!

100... yowch, Jane... you ARE having a heat wave!

Patricia - over 100... I'd be sitting in front of an open refrigerator!

Marilyn - the sun was out in force, here in Chitown... we went directly from spring, right into the frying pan

I will see your 90 degree plus days and I raise you 40 non-stop triple digit days. That is 40 days well over 100 degrees plus the heat index of 8-10 degrees (so it feels like 115-125 degrees) as we have not had a drop of rain in months.... Yes you can really fry an egg on the sidewalk. Please, please, Please send us some rain. Pretty please with whipped cream and a cherry on top!!

;)

mmmm.... forbidden cherry!

I will see your 40-non-stop triple digit days, and raise you 3-days-over-90, with 65-75% humidity... !

shower, dress, and by the time you reach the car, your shirt is stuck to your back.

Well Alan, I hate to taut you but I will! Where I live in GA there is hardly any humidity, crazy huh? We have the high temps like last Sunday 95-103 degrees in the afternoon but with no humidity.

I feel for ya showing homes in the weather you've been experiencing, it makes me {{{glisten}}}

today's forecast is a balmy 97° with 76% humidity.   And don't worry Cynthia... I like nothing better than being taunted by a beautiful woman.

I once told my sister, that women don't sweat... they "glisten"... to which she replied... "Oh, yeah... well if that's the case, I'm glistening like a pig!"

97 in Charlotte! I'd be sitting in front of an open refrigerator with an oscillating fan between me and the fridge, if not for the AC!

Alan,

We had three generations of us at Lollapalooza this past weekend. Friday was a little damp, but if you Chicago folks call the weather there hot the rest of the weekend, living in Austin, we think y'all are a bunch of wusses.

I can't begin to describe how great our visit was there. Not enough can be said about how well the event was run, or the location. Absolutely spectacular. We didn't have to wait in any line for more than a couple of minutes for anything. The food was great, and the beer was cold. The sound systems and video at the main stages were phenomonal, and not one sign of any kind of trouble from any of the festival fans. The Chicago people at the various businesses, and on the street were just as nice as they could be.

I thought of you when the group Ezra Furman & the Harpoons were doing their set as Ezra stated he originally is from Evanston. See link below.

Mr. McCoy...

good to see you here... yep, we call that hot.  Tie it in with 75% humidity or higher, and it's downright uncomfortable.  I don't know Ezra.. but I'm sure my girls do.  I know many who attended lollapalooza and enjoyed it thoroughly, regardless of the rain.

Alan,

I use to make a pilgrimage to Chicago at least once a year.  I did happen to hit it one year that it was unbearably hot.  Of course most of the time we went in the spring and it was cold and rainy.  I do love the Windy City but the weather sometimes can leave much to be desired
