The market is definitely improving in the Charlotte market. Buyer's still seem to be gravitating to current foreclosures (most of my clients come from one of my foreclosure links like http://www.CarolinaHouseHunter.com/custom10.shtml ).
While most sales had been in the entry-level homes, recent contracts include higher end, more discounted, executive homes.
There is concern that there might be further weakness in the housing market, but from my perspective, I think that chance is getting more remote every day. Budget issues in California keep housing there under pressure, but it's well known that California falls the furtherest. It will also recover the fastest and Charlotte appears to be leading the recovery (though it might be just a little early to call it that yet).
