The Power of Working Together

By
Home Stager with Fresh Perspectives - www.InsideNashvilleHomes.com

Fresh Perspectives was recently contacted by another stager, Liz Jenkins of A Fresh Space to help her with a vacant staging. Liz and I are friends. We have conducted seminars together and she has referred vacant projects to me. Liz specializes in organizing, redesign, and project management.  She no longer stages vacants simply for the fact that she just doesn't like them. I, on the other hand, absolutely love them.

Liz had been working on renovating this home. Updating fixtures, floors, repairing the roof and replacing the hvac among many other things when she called me.  She needed the final step of staging the property to complete it. After walking through the property and discussing her ideas we went to work just a few days later. Below are pictures of the results.

Living Room Before                                                             Living Room After

Family Room Before                                                        Family Room After

             Kitchen Before                                                                Kitchen After

Working together to complete this project was a bunch of fun for us.  Liz and I have found a great way to use our skill sets to help each other's businesses. We are both looking forward to working on more projects together in the future.

If you are wanting to grow your business, find others in your area so you can work together.  This is a great way for everyone to win - the agents, homeowners, the buyers, and of course the stagers!

Great staging work from you both Athea and Liz! The "icing in the cake" to me is that I love hearing when stagers can successfully work together in the interest of a client.

Anthea (and Liz!), this is a great example of the benefits to sharing a slice of the pie.  I bet both of you had a great time doing what you love--and the results are beautiful.

Nice job ladies!  I haven't done a vacant home yet, but can't wait to do one!  You've  inspired me!!

Andrew,  Is there a book or course we can take to learn all the photography tricks you mentioned??    Or maybe I should read all your blogs??  :)

Team work is great.

I love the first set of photos.  The dining room didn't look like a dining room without the furniture.  I looked like a hall way.

The last set of photos........what did you do to the floor?

Jo:

There are a lot of books out there, but so much of photography is trial and error.  After awhile, you know what problems arise when the scene unfolds before you, and you'll know how to tackle them.  Good equipment is the first step, that includes good lighting equipment which helps develop the scene.

There are lots of tips and tricks too, far too many to mention, but maybe I'll put together a lay(wo)man's guide for some simple steps to take if you are unable to hire a professional to do the work for you.

Cynthia - Thank you!

Debra - I totally agree. There is so much work or everyone. Abundance is what we have.

Holly - Thank you! Liz did an amazing job with the house. Her projects were most important to any buyer.  I just made it look pretty. :)

Maureen -  I love working with others, it is a bunch of fun isn't it? And thank you!

Jo - Vacants are my favorite. I just love a blank canvas and a challenge.

Virginia and Cathy - Liz had the floors regrouted. I think it made all the difference in the world.

Cindy - Thank you!

Great job Anthea and I love working with others too! It's more fun, it's faster and two (or more) heads are more creative than one - I know some prefer to work alone & have sole control but for me - by the time the job is ready to be tackled, I am usually so tired from all the prep work that I'm happy to share the load!

LOVE THE FAMILY ROOM FURNITURE!! Just yummy!!  Well done to you both.

PS ~ May I ask how you got the photos lined up so well?  I've just tortured myself learning how to do HTML tables and I really want to find an alterative.  Horribly time consuming and fiddly.
