According to a report today from OPP Overseas Property Professional, 86% of the Brits distrust their real estate agents. How should we expect them to feel about Florida real estate agents, when they've heard stories about people who have bought lots that turned out to be swamp land, and when time share salesmen accost them on the Florida beaches?
This is consistent with a previous ActiveRain blog I wrote that discussed how ineffective we've found advertising in the international market. The international buyer generally works on trust, on relationships - and an ad doesn't accomplish that. Perhaps someone will call you and see if a relationship can be established, but trying to sell a particular property through international advertising is not a good return on investment.
Get involved, be patient, be persistent. Develop those relationships.
