Prayers Across America For Katie

I know the power of prayer and I know the power of Active Rain. I know the power of meditation and I know the power of Active Rain. With this in mind, I am beseeching each and everyone one of you who is willing, to join this group in praying for a lovely young lady from Daphne, Alabama, who needs our prayers. I don't know her personally, but I have just found out about this, and if ever there was a need, there is one now.

You can join this group, or just visit to read Katie's story. Katie's story began in late May, and now this devastating illness, ARDS, (which I had never heard of before) drug Katie and her family into a battle for her life.

Please join me, and all the others who have joined in, in lifting this family, Katie, her physicians and nurses up, with prayers, meditations, good thoughts and love for strength, peace, patience and healing. Their battle is ongoing, and there have been milestones passed, and baby steps taken.

If I know anything about Active Rain, I know the power of strength and love that flows from here.

We are keeping her in our thoughts -- all the best. Keep us posted about what is happening.

What happened to this girl to bring this on? Does anyone know? I read the parents' log and it has to be devastating for them. The literature suggests some lung injury or prior illness. I will pray for her and her family and send healing thoughts to them.

Bon and Carolin, Geri and Ann, Thank you all so very much. You can join her prayer group on Facebook, just please keep her and her family lifted up and her team of caring staff from doctors to sheet changers. Everyone needs strength.

Geri, I have been reading about this illness, and there is usually no difinitive starting point, although pneuonia is ofeten cited as presenting factor. It,s weird that I have never heard of this. But from what I have read of survivor stories and other journals, it is brutal. in. the. worst. way. She has no real prior illness except the bump on the back iof her neck, from what I can tell. Then she just started getting sick.

That's the way in so many of the stories I've read. Sad.
