Life in Arvada is colored by many unique and popular merchants, such as La Patisserie Francaise French Bakery.

La Patisserie Francaise has been a well-known fixture in it's convenient spot next to Target at 80th and Wadsworth for many years, but is now under new ownership. I visited the shop with a couple of friends on its opening morning, August 5, and met the new owners - Jeffrey & Lisa Van Putten.

Jeffrey told me that they owned a bakery in the past, and love food. When they saw La Patisserie Francaise, they were 'enchanted with it, and just brought in a little more life and color'. The original owners will work with them until year's end. They'll be using the same popular recipes, and will offer the same great cakes.

A couple new items will be Glacier ice cream and Allegro coffee. The Van Puttens are proponents of buying locally, and both Glacier and Allegro are Colorado companies.

I had a wonderful pastry with cream cheese (can't remember what it was called!) and my friends enjoyed cinnamon rolls. We all had a great time. Stop in some time, get some local flavor!  Those of you from the Club Crest and Pomona Lakes neighborhoods can walk to it.

Arvada is a historic town about midway between Denver and Boulder in Jefferson County, Colorado. There are many different neighborhood and shopping area styles. Novo Coffee is near the intersection of Wadsworth and 80th Ave., the main north-south and east-west routes through Arvada, near neighborhoods built mostly in the 1970s with wide streets and sidewalks, mature tree canopies, and nice-sized yards.
