After a rough start on Day 1 of the vacation, I was hoping that today would be a better day.  WRONG!!!

Madison did not sleep well last night due to here new surroundings.  So needless to say, we did not sleep well either.  Plus, add on the fact that it was roughly 45 degrees.  Coming from Florida weather and a warm 80-90 degree climate, we were not prepared for the cool snap.

Well, after eating some breakfast, I checked my emails and was shocked at the response I got to Day 1.  After responding to the comments, I had to make my way in to town to the hardware store.  Need to buy some outlet covers to keep the little one from finding out about electricity.  While we were there, I got the names of a couple plumbers to find out about getting the pump to work.

After getting the referrences, we ventured over into Montrose  because we heard about this great supermarket.  After all, we do need food in the house if we plan on staying here.  The supermarket was awesome compared to some of the ones back home.  Double coupons... frequent shopper discounts... low prices.  Plus, the produce actually looked good.  And the biggest shocker was that the citrus was cheaper than back home.  Go figure.

We made it home just in time to meet one of the plumbers that we called on our way to the store.  After about 30-45 minutes of messing around, we found the problem.  The back-up pressure value (or something like that) was not open.  After much leverage to get the valve to turn, we had water...  pouring in all over the basement.  Turns out two pipes broke.  Good thing I had the plumber present.

Now there is just the issue with the furnace.  But no need to rush it as it is supposed to be warmer tonight.  And that is a whole other story.  It is finally reaching the evening hours, and we have still yet to relax.

After dinner, we decide to finally go out on the lake.  I lug the big rowboat out of the basement and launch it into the lake.  Go back up to the house to get the oars and walk back.  Oh, no... wrong oars.  They don't fit.  Walk back up and grab the other pair.  Those don't fit either.  Go back and find a third pair.  Guess what... they don't fit either.  No more oars laying around.

Determined to get a little time on the lake before the sun completely sets, I drag the canoe out of the basement.  Finally, something works.  We set off for the far end of the lake (going against the wind while I still have some energy left in me.)  At the far end, we decide to hop out and hike for a little bit before heading home.

Home at last and off to bed... may tomorrow be a better day to actually rest.

Oh, I did do some work today.  Followed up with a lender to make sure a file was still on track to close early next week.  Also, one of my brokers called to see if we had a lender that could do a certain program (1973 mobile home purchase).  Had to dig into the archives for that one, but was able to find her answer.  (YES... we have a lender that can do them).  Also, started putting together a SBA loan for another client of mine... (figures I get the last of the paperwork while on vacation.)

Pictures will come tomorrow, as I seemed to have misplaced my USB cable for the camera.  Sorry... :(

Ah....shall we all flash back to my trip to Telluride at Christmas.  Sometimes nature just works against you.  LOL  Make the most of it and laugh about it in a few months.

Chris,

We are laughing now... probably more because it is just so sad that this is all happening.

Marc,

Madison wants me to stay on the computer... that way she can sneak away and play with all the fun toys up here.
