Well it is actually day 8, the last few days have been spent trying over and over to contact Option 1, Fremont and National City Mortgage.
lets rank each one for ease of contact out 10. 1 being the easiest.
Option One 5
Fremont at least 11
National City Mortgage 2
Well I have finally established meaningful contact with Option One and I am now recognised as being authorized. My short Sale package is complete, has been pre-qualified, and is under review with there processor. Persistence and politeness is teh key.
Fremont took several days of being on hold for an hour or so before I finally got to speak to an agent, only for them to cut me off half through my conversation. Another 30 minutes got me back to a "Customer Service Rep" only to be told they would not consider any proposals or extensions until an offer was obtained. They wouldn't even give an idea of what they might accept.
National City Mortgage have been a totally different story. They are easy to contact. They respond quickly and have been very helpful. At last a lender who seems to care about their clients.
How can any borrower hope ever to get out of trouble and find a way forward with most of the lenders?

national City has been a nightmare for us, we are trying to purchase a home they have listed as a short sale..there negotiator thea dodge will NOT return phone calls to even update the listing realtor if our offers are even in concideration.
National City is still a nightmare. The only saving grace I have is that the Seller has involved an attorney and even the attorney has a hard time getting any response. The only response thus far has been they back logged and they will do their best. Now that sounds ok but seems to be the formal response. I think National city sent out a memo stating that that is the new company motto.
I am a realtor trying to get Thea Dodge to return my phone calls, without luck. Does anone know her email address?
