I've been so busy lately that it took someone else pointing out that I passed 500,000 points to realize I had done it.  I read lots of people getting excited about their points, but yet, most don't have anything to show for it.

What do the 500,000+ points mean to me?  Since I joined in 2006, ActiveRain has put over $122,000 into my pocket, spread over 17 different buyers and sellers.  That's a lot of "FREE" money, if you want to look at it like that.  I know that's chump change for some of you, but I'm in a market where the average sales price is under $200k.

How did I get $122,000?  From my blogging!

Too many people are blogging for "points".  I have said over and over again that the points mean NOTHING if the points aren't putting money in your pocket.  My points are putting money in my pocket!  My points work very hard for me!

What do your points do for you?  Can you track every dollar you've made from ActiveRain?  No?  Why not?  If you're not tracking your marketing, advertising, and prospecting time, how do you know what works and what doesn't work?

I don't care to spend time on things that don't work for me, which means no money in my pockets.  ActiveRain and Blogging, though I thought it was really tough at first to come up with things to always write about, has blossomed into a very important part of my business.

My proof is at the bank!

500,000 points means a lot to me, but the money in my pocket means even more!  Money pays the bills, but I doubt ActiveRain will allow me to cash in my points for anymore more than a toaster!

500,000 points seems inconceivable to me.  Congrats on all of your success with AR.  I think that's just fantastic.

I noticed that your "button" has a black background.  I made it white for you, in case you wanted it to look as such.  I hope you don't take offense.  If you do though, just delete this comment!

Marchel, Funny because I did take Bob up on the offer to trade my points in.  The points are nice, but the consumer finds my blogs before they go back to the main page to see points, and localism doesn't even have points posted, so I think it's only an internal thing for others in the network to gauge who they're sending referrals to.
