Tomorrow morning Downtown Honolulu will host the annual parade honoring the reign of King Kamehameha who was responsible for consolidating the islands under one rule in 1795.

Floral floats, pa'u riders and bands will march from downtown to Kapiolani Park tomorrow  The parade will begin at 8:30 a.m. at King and Richards streets, will travel down to Punchbowl Street onto Ala Moana Boulevard, heads to Waikiki onto Kalakaua Avenue and ends at Kapiolani Park.

At 9 a.m. after the parade, a cultural festival will take place at Kapiolani Park where the parade ends.  They will have entertainment, food booths, arts & crafts, and Polyneian demonstrations and displays.

I believe Monday will be a holiday for many city and state employees as King Kamehameha's statue will be honored and leid that morning.
