With frost on the pumpkin for the second morning in a row, it's time to head to warmer climates.   Ok, ok, so we're really only heading 500 miles south, and there's no promise that it will be much warmer there, but we're going anyway. If that doesn't work, we're going to head south and play tourist while visiting all of ya'll in pursuit of sunshine and warm weather...and stapler.

The RV is packed with food, libation, summer clothes for what I pray are sunny days, winter clothes for what I expect to be windy and cold days and as near as I can tell 37 pairs of shoes, of which none belong to me.  Who the devil thought a walk in closet in an RV was a good idea?  There are a lot of hills between here and Seward and the more she hauls in the more I have visions of Lucy (apt name, no?) saying "I think I can, I think I can..." while slowing climbing one of those 11% grades outside of Anchorage. Have you ever seen the long, long trailer? Well, this is sure to be a modern retelling.

As long as the weather holds...

If all goes well (ha) we'll get to spend some time playing in Reserruction Bay... If the seas aren't kind, we'll play with the fellows at the SeaLife Center and enjoy not hearing the words "additional conditions.."  It's ok to run away from home once in a while, right?

Lovely photo.  Are any of the shoes a black slingback, size 8 1/2??  Just asking.  Have fun.   I am running away this weekend too!  Another girls weekend, although a long term buyer just sold their house out of state and while we are looking Friday, I'm afraid my weekend is in jeopardy!~

Jesse, it's great to get away for awhile as it clears the mind. Enjoy. I have to take my own advice on this one...

Jesse, being a sailor there's just nothing as peaceful!!  So will you get to spend any of that time on a sail boat.  I'm looking forward to cooler weather so we can take ours out again.  It has been miserably HOT here!!  Have a wonderful vacation!!

Jesse,

As usual, a terrific photo. So, you are packing for south? 500 miles is quite a journey.

Have fun, and take more pictures

Wow, what a beautiful shot. As for the long long trailer, yep remember that one myself. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, I was a kid and couldn't stay awake for the whole thing at the drive-in.

Have fun heading to sunshine!

Being a warm bodied person if I was getting frost in August I would also be heading south. I guess the beautiful scenery come with some downfalls.

Hi Jesse, frost on the pumpkin? Already? One of our realtors just got back from a 3 week stay in Fairbanks, at the AFB with her son, daughter inlaw, and 2 grandchildren, one of them very new, LOL.  I was very jealous. Can't wait to see the pictures of your trip!

I'm sure we were close to frost yesterday, it barely made it into the 90's and after a couple weeks of triple digit temps, that's sort of cold herein August. Hope the road trip goes great and you guys have tons of fun playing in the Sun my friend.

Jesse,

You can't complain about the shoes.  You should know this by now.  :)

A girl needs shoes Jessie.  Did I tell you that when my daughters and I returned from FL last month we had to buy additional carry ons to hold the new shoes purchased on trip.  Hope you don't need to get a tag along to bring home more shoes from Seward

Oh, I'm so envious, Jesse. Wish I could get away right now but I can't. Come November 30th, though, I'm heading to Vietnam. First-time home buyer credit will be gone, and then it's time to get the hell out of dodge.

Can't wait to see your photos from the trip.
