Hello Sara, amazing video on the phonomenal growth of social media.  Kinda nice to see Dale Carnegie pop up near the end.  Makes much sense.  Thanks!  John

What a powerful message Sara. I was riding the fence on some of these things but I am now determined to go for it and charge into the social revolution.

Of course, some most of AR members are everywhere in social media for a good reason, it works. Lots of real estate professionals have received leads, loans, staging, buyers and sellers from all of the sources mentioned in the video. Use it wisely and well and you will be successful! Thank you.

Wow, Sara... What a great video!  Some of the statistics are unreal... and indicative of the fact that anyone not getting into social media, in our business and any other, is missing fantastic opportunities.  Thanks for the post... I'm off to watch it again...

Sara,

I started blogging about 6 years ago because I saw this coming. Kind of overwhelming isn't it? I found activerain in 2007 and that is my social network connection. Congrats on the Activerain feature!

I did a little research on the author of that video:

@equalman on Twitter
http://socialnomics.net -- his blog
http://www.amazon.com/Socialnomics-social-media-transforms-business/dp/0470477237 -- His book which is coming out August 24 (and I'll be buying it!)

The video was an awesome reminder to all of us that this is a whole new world and that social media will have an economic impact on consumers.

Thank you for posting and I hope that others enjoy his blog as well!

P.S.(I don't know him, but like what he has to say and I think others could learn and enjoy his writings as well).

Great video.  I think I'll download his book to my iPHone kindle app...I'm sure it's available that way...

Wow, powerful video. The interesting thing is that Wednesday morning I was in my weekly office meeting and my team leader was talking about social media. She talked about one of the top agents in the country, can't remember his name. But he said he was using Facebook to get business, so he was posting business related updates on it. "Going to a listing appointment" that kind of thing.

He decided to change tactics and just talk about social things " Taking my wife to dinner" that type of thing. And he started getting MORE leads than the real estate stuff had brought him. Thought that was an a-ha moment.

Tammi- Thanks for posting that additional info. I'll have to go check that out. Ann- Guess the old saying is true- People buy from people they like! Much easier to like someone that is more real and personal! Thanks for sharing that!

Sara,

Great video and loved the music :)  The statistics are amazing and I am still reeling from how quickly social networking has taken off.  It has given us an easy and quick way to reach out to people both in our personal and business life.

Congratulations on the feature

Sharon

Hey Sara, thank for the mention but I have to get props to @Ribeezie (Ricardo Bueno) because he posted it first. I just shared it with my stream. It does blow you away and validates that we are not living in a vacuum. Go Social Media!

Sara,

I posted something similar to this on my blog just yesterday! I live in a part of the country where fads take a little longer to reach, and our team is doing everything to keep on track with this new marketing curve. We even went to a social media seminar, and what we learned was just astounding.

Thanks for the video - it was a lot of great information! Almost mind boggling.

Sara, now that statistic about it outpacing porn, that one I find hard to believe. It seems sex drives everything in video and web. Maybe they are including sex blog sites?? LOL. The video is a frightening view of the pace of life quickening though. Thanks for sharing. I think EVERYTHING in life is a fad and just has to run through its cycle as it evolves constantly. NOTHING is static.

Gary- I have to admit- that was the stat that jumped out the most at me too!  Now to combine porn and social media - and you have a firestorm on your hands!  Haha.

The social media overtaking porn happened in 2007 I believe.  Good information thanks Sara.

Sara,

Thanks for sharing.  I liked your video on zestimates BTW, maybe that will put agents at ease about them.

I have to be careful about saying this to someone from Chicago ... but I wish our government would use a little more socialnomics than some of those other -nomics they roll out! :) Thanks for the insightful video, Sara.

Wow Sara thanks for finding this new one on social video - I hadn't seen it and sure will be using it!!  It's amazing how many people/agents still think that SM is bunk...  aren't they in for a surprise?!?

Sara - There was a similar video that came out a while ago that was more about how quickly information is changing.  I liked it, and it really made you think.  I also enjoyed this one that was more geared towards social media.  I wonder if they were done by the same person?
