Haymarket, Virginia - Homes for Sale with a View - Silver Lake Regional Park is slated to open October 2009. The 230 acre property known as Silver Lake Regional Park in Haymarket, VA was originally a campground and had a few old homes. In fact my older two daughters worked there in the summer for their first job. It was sold to Toll Brothers to the lament of many campers and residents for more development as land is adjacent to Dominion Valley Country Club in Haymarket, VA. Toll Brothers donated the land to Prince William County in 2006 and was transferred to the Prince William County Park Authority in June 2009. My son in law who works for the authority says that the bathroom facilities are ready and their will be areas for camping when it opens. There are future plans to add a bathhouse, marina, camping area and eventually outdoor classrooms.
This is one of the many reasons why I love the Haymarket, VA area. We have beautiful view of the Bull Run Mountains, local parks and campgrounds, choice Golf Courses to choose from, LaGrange Winery, a hometown feel and still close to everything!
