The Power of our Thoughts...

By

My husband and I have a routine where we read our devotional each morning.  This morning's devotion is titled "The Power of our Thoughts".  It goes on to read that, "Our thoughts have the power to lift us up or drag us down".  You know, this just really hit me today because it is so true.

We can wake up each day, sleepishly get out of bed...drag ourselves to the kitchen...poor our cup of coffee...and start our day.  We could say, ah, this is such a blah day.  You know, we just have such bad luck...our buyers didn't get the houses they wanted, our bank account doesn't look as great as we'd want it to, I have to wash my hair today and spend the hour fixing it, my jeans are just too tight and I don't feel like doing anything about it OR we could start our day with...thank you God that I have another day.  Thank you that I am healthy, happy, have a wonderful husband.  Thank you that I have a beautiful home and food to eat.  Thank you that I have the ability to do a job that I absolutely love and to meet people that I would normally not have the opportunity to meet.  Thank you that I get to spend the days working with my husband, my partner and my teammate.  I am going to get it done today and I am going to love every minute of it.

Wow, just writing that makes me feel energized, thankful and completely BLESSED.  I hope that when you are at that point in your day where you decide what sort of day you're going to have that you stop, count your blessings and make it a good day!!!

Hugs,

I believe in the power of thoughts.  Enjoying the work we do can help us be more postive. Reflecting on the good we are doing helps make the rough times easier as well.

Choice is a big part of it. Choosing to think of the postive aspects in our lives and looking for opportunities and silver linings helps motivate me during the day.  It is sometimes necessary for me to sit back and reflect on the good things around me and how I can make it better for myself and others.
