Are you thinking about moving to Hawaii?  Do you want to know about the neighborhoods and their crime statistics so that you can better educate yourself on where you may want to search for a home?

I am sometimes asked this question and I tell my buyers that they should contact the police department in the neighborhoods that they are interested in.  Although I am aware of reputations that some neighborhoods have because I live here,  I do not have the factual evidence.  Of course it is also a violation of the code of ethics.

If you are thinking of relocating to Hawaii and are interested in obtaining Hawaii Neighborhood Crime Reports for cities from Honolulu to Mililani, from Ewa Beach to Waialua, Makaha to Kailua or Diamond Head to Hauula, log on to The Honolulu Police Department Website at http://www.honolulupd.org/.

Find the appropriate district under the "Regional Patrol Bureau" to obtain the telephone number.  From there call and ask for the District Community Resource Officer of the appropriate district to find out the crime statistics.

Good luck and Happy Hawaii house hunting!
